Cantaloupe & Lettuce Anyone?

Romaine Lettuce has been recalled in 21 states and reported illness in: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, as well as Canada. The Listeria outbreak has spread to cantaloupe and romaine lettuce, killing 21 people, and sickening 103 more. The CDC expects the numbers to continue to rise as symptoms can take up to two months to show up. Listeria is more deadly than Salmonella and E. Coli so do not take this recall lightly. The CDC says it is especially harmful to pregnant women because Listeria passes directly through the fetus. In addition, be sure that your refrigerator is at or below 40 degrees F and your freezer is at or below 0 degrees F by using a refrigerator thermometer.
